Girl Dinner: Sense and Sensibility

Girl Dinner is back at Bio Skandia, this time with Jane Austen on the big screen! On 31 October, we invite you to spend the whole evening with Georgia Oakley’s new adaptation of Sense and Sensibility alongside Girl Dinner.

We get started at 15:00 at Bar Lido, where you can settle down with our Girl Dinner board, filled with charcuterie, cheeses, olives, cornichons, biscuits and other tasty bites. There’s also a vegetarian option, of course!

Why not pre-order your Girl Dinner with your cinema ticket? You can also order on arrival, but as the boards are prepared to order, it may take a little while. So please arrive in good time! You can enjoy your food at Bar Lido before the film or take the board into the cinema.

ABOUT THE FILM

Georgia Oakley gives Jane Austen’s classic a new adaptation, focusing on love, family, financial hardship and, above all, sisterhood.

When Mr Dashwood dies, his wife and three daughters are left in an uncertain financial situation. The family are forced to leave their home and start afresh, while sisters Elinor and Marianne try to navigate love, grief and the expectations placed on them by early 19th-century England.

The thoughtful Elinor tries to keep her feelings for Edward Ferrars under control, while the more impulsive Marianne is drawn to the charming John Willoughby. Despite their different ways of approaching life and love, the relationship between the sisters becomes the heart of the story, as they are both forced to reconsider what they really want and what they are prepared to risk for it.
