An explosive drama about daring to take control of your own story. What if everyone around you is just an actor, and you are playing the lead without knowing it? When that thought takes hold of Sam, it becomes difficult to see the world as before.

At home, life goes on with its usual lines; at school, the tough crowd rules, and everywhere people seem to be following a secret script that Sam has never been allowed to see.

Then one day, the Play itself starts talking. It reveals that everything has been decided: the roles, the lines, the costumes. But it also gives Sam the choice of playing along or tearing the whole story apart.

Förstör den här pjäsen begins as a traditional theatre experience, but soon the format breaks down into playful chaos where nothing is sacred. The adult world's truths, rules and expectations are turned inside out in a wild metatheatrical game that asks: What happens if you take control of your own story?

The play is written and directed by Emil Nilsson-Mäki, founder of Skuggteatern in Umeå, known for his innovative performing arts for children and young people. His previous productions include Gargantua, I am not a girl and Lyssnaren, which have been selected for festivals such as Bibu and Scenkonstbiennalen.
