Magnus Betnér – Mellan oss
Magnus Betnér is coming to Rival - EXTRA SHOW PLEASE NOTE: THE PERFORMANCE WILL BE FILMED!
“Mellan oss” - there is more than one way to look back on Magnus Betnér’s career. On the one hand, a truth-teller, a voice of reason and provocatively honest – according to many. On the other, raw, self-revealing and, according to some – frankly provocative. Few have stirred up more emotions than Magnus Betnér during his many trips around Sweden.
If “Inget är heligt”, “Tal till nationen” and “Livets ord” created the persona of Magnus Betnér, then 2026 is the time to get to know Magnus. All in a funny, revealing stand-up show in which an ageing comedian (despite all evidence to the contrary) wants to show a new side of himself. Or perhaps more of a photograph with more colours than the black-and-white image many people have.
“Mellan oss” is more than the title of a show - it is an invisible contract between Magnus Betnér and his audience, signed more than 20 years ago. Not because what is said is necessarily secret, but it is an outstretched hand and a pledge of authenticity: what we experience here tonight is just for us. Because when Magnus embarks on a major tour for the first time in over a decade – as the only name on the poster – it is going to be something special.
It is the story of Magnus, the child with a diagnosis, and Betnér, the father of two juggling everyday life, along with everything he holds dear as he approaches fifty. And a little about the things that puzzle him.
For just over ten years, Magnus Betnér has toured as part of various line-ups, and in between has kept plugging away with the ever-evolving Work in progress tour. Where some might ask why change a winning formula, Magnus wants to dig deeper to try to get to the heart of things.
There will be traces of ADHD, and there may be fragments of social analysis. The odd celebrity might need to be discussed. Fans will find familiar territory, and fans will be surprised. Welcome to a stand-up show that is as uncomfortable as it is inclusive and, between us, very funny.
Age restriction: Recommended minimum age 13, accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Running time: approximately 75 minutes without an interval
