The Magic Numbers

Four voices, two pairs of siblings and a band that have never stopped sounding like themselves. Vocal harmonies are second nature to them, and their songs have that rare quality of feeling like classics the very first time you hear them.

Their self-titled debut album from 2005 set the tone straight away. A Mercury Prize nomination, sold-out shows and classics such as “Forever Lost” and “Love Me Like You”. Since then, they have continued in the same vein: intimate, warm and assured. Always with songwriting at the heart of it all.

To date, The Magic Numbers have released five successful albums and are currently working on new music. Live, it is easy to understand why they have become a band people keep coming back to. They are tight without being stiff, heartfelt without being heavy, and always keep the audience close. They have toured the world, built a loyal following and shared stages with names such as Neil Young, Brian Wilson and Radiohead.

Outside the band, the members have also made their mark in other settings, from collaborations with The Chemical Brothers to production work for Billy Bragg, among others. But whatever the side project, it is clear where it all begins: in the interplay between the four voices and songs that stand the test of time.
