Matt Maeson
Matt Maeson makes music for the moments when you need it most. No matter how fast life moves, he manages to capture it and slow the pace enough to sing about it.
The Virginia-born, Nashville-based multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist turns complex emotions, troubling thoughts and self-doubt into captivating, accessible alternative pop songs, grounded in honest, relatable feelings. Over the past decade, Matt has recorded life’s ups and downs.
In 2019, he broke through with his debut album “Bank on the Funeral”, which made history with two platinum-selling singles – “Cringe” and “Hallucinogenics” [featuring Lana Del Rey] – both of which reached number one on the alternative music chart. This made him the first male solo artist ever to score two alternative number ones from a debut album.
The 2022 follow-up, “Never Had To Leave”, was praised by “American Songwriter” and “Consequence of Sound”, among others. He has proved to be a rare talent, equally at home in major arenas alongside Zach Bryan as in collaborations with Gryffin, Illenium and Chelsea Cutler. He also embarked on a sold-out acoustic tour, “That’s My Cue Tour”, which was documented on the 2024 live album “That’s My Cue: A Solo Experience”.
