Bokcirkel: Anne Franks dagbok
Join a book club led by Marianne Goldman, where we will discuss Anne Franks dagbok. Anne Franks dagbok is one of the most important documents from the Holocaust. Anne was born on 12 June 1929. In the summer of 1942, she and her family went into hiding to escape the Nazis.
Anne was thirteen at the time, and her diary allows us to follow her development into a young woman and a keen observer of human nature. In August 1944, the hiding place was discovered. Anne Frank died in Bergen-Belsen three months before her sixteenth birthday.
Marianne Goldman is a playwright. Marianne’s mother, Beth Altschuler, fled from Denmark to Sweden in the autumn of 1943, after Danish Jews had been warned that the German occupying forces were planning an operation against them. Beth kept her own diary about her escape and her early days in Sweden. Marianne had her mother’s handwritten Danish diary translated and arranged for it to be printed.
The ticket includes a copy of Anne Franks dagbok, which will be sent to your home after you purchase your ticket (but no earlier than 10 August). Please make sure you enter the correct address when registering.
