From The Soft Boys’ psychedelic punk and The Egyptians’ Dadaist pop to solo masterpieces such as I Often Dream of Trains (1984) and Eye (1990).

With a career spanning six decades, Robyn Hitchcock has created a strikingly original catalogue and proved himself a multifaceted artist, to say the least – a surrealist rock ’n’ roller, iconic troubadour, guitarist, poet, painter and stage personality.

Hitchcock began his career with The Soft Boys in the 1970s and has since performed in a number of successful bands as well as working as a solo artist. Over the past four decades, he has toured almost non-stop, from Africa to the Arctic, and collaborated with R.E.M., Andy Partridge, Brendan Benson, Johnny Marr, Sean Ono Lennon and Jon Brion, among others.
