The Beat from Palookaville

The Beat from Palookaville; one of Europe’s most authentic R&B and SKA bands, but also a phenomenal all-round band when it comes to backing other artists.

Guitar virtuoso Anders Lewén (Sven Zetterberg Bluesband, Knockout Greg & Blueweather) formed this unique act 18 years ago, and in many circles they are considered one of Sweden’s best live bands. A high-octane musical melting pot that is entirely their own, always bursting with energy from the start, led by frontman Tommy "Big T" Moberg!

The band backed Sven Zetterberg on his acclaimed album Grounded in Reality, where they also got to showcase their soul influences as a studio band! One of Sweden’s most acclaimed Christmas albums, Christmas Is A Drag, on which The Beat From Palookaville back Elin Ruth Sigvardsson, was released in 2015, and the band also collaborated with Magnus Carlson from Weeping Willows on their second full-length album, Come Get Ur Lovin´.

Following acclaimed gigs across Europe, the band caught the attention of Spanish record label Sleazy Records, resulting in several notable record releases. But for all their albums, it is on stage that The Beat from Palookaville truly come into their own. Just ask Orup, Jasmine Kara or Moneybrother, who have all made guest appearances at their live shows.

Now The Beat from Palookaville return to Debaser, having previously delivered one of the season’s biggest parties. You won’t want to miss this!
