Main text: Johan Strauss den yngre, a master of the art of composing waltzes, wrote Läderlappen in 1873.

It has become one of the best-loved operettas from glittering Vienna.

From the very first bars, you are transported to another world as the story waltzes towards the masquerade ball that changes everything.

Kungliga Operan’s production features brilliant opera singers in the solo roles, a large orchestra and chorus, and a minimalist directorial approach.
