Striden om verklighetsuppfattningen
What is at stake when information becomes a weapon? How is communication used to weaken opponents, create division and affect people's ability to act?
In military terms, this is known as malign information influence. It involves strategically crafted information intended to manipulate, mislead and polarise societies.
This evening's panel discussion brings together Åsa Wikforss, professor of theoretical philosophy, author and member of Svenska Akademin; Anna Maria Forssberg, a historian and researcher specialising in war propaganda; and Charlotte Wagnsson, professor of political science at Försvarshögskolan, who specialises in who spreads harmful narratives, what effects they have and how countermeasures can be developed.
How can we recognise attempts to influence us? What happens to trust when the line between information, propaganda and manipulation becomes increasingly difficult to discern? And how can we strengthen our mental resilience? These are some of the questions the panel will discuss.
The evening begins with a so-called unboxing, in which Anna Maria Forssberg from Vasamuseet unpacks and presents objects from Armémuseum's collections that shed light on the subject. This is followed by the panel discussion, with the objects serving as a springboard into the evening's theme. The entire evening is moderated by Emilia Engblad from Armémuseum.
