Ezhel
The concert is organised by FKP Scorpio. Ezhel – or Sercan İpekçioğlu, his real name – is one of the most influential voices in Turkish rap, with a strong impact on the German scene too.
Born and raised in Ankara and now based in Berlin, he has been shaped by a wide range of influences: hip-hop, reggae and Anatolian rock – a mix that also defines his own sound. He began freestyling and making his mark in underground battles as a teenager, quickly developing his style and presence.
His breakthrough came with his debut album “Müptezhel”, which became a phenomenon in Turkey. On the record, Ezhel blends rap with elements of reggae and trap, delivering lyrics that are both raw and incisive – exploring urban life, social issues and the realities facing young people. Tracks such as “Şehrimin Tadı” and “Geceler” gave voice to a generation’s frustrations and dreams, establishing Ezhel as a distinctive voice for Turkish youth.
At the same time, his career has been marked by controversies and legal challenges – including arrests linked to interpretations of his lyrics – which, if anything, strengthened his position. Ezhel came to symbolise resistance and freedom of expression, and has continued to use music as a tool for both storytelling and social commentary.
Through collaborations with international names such as Aitch, Luciano, Gentleman and Ufo361, Ezhel has also extended his reach far beyond Turkey’s borders. Today, he continues to push the boundaries of modern rap and build bridges between scenes, languages and genres – with the same uncompromising edge that has made him a pioneer in his field.
