The world-famous musical Chicago comes to Oscarsteatern this autumn in a grand, lavish Swedish production.
Directed by Edward af Sillén and starring international star Peter Jöback and sisters Hanna and Ellen Lindblad, it treats audiences to a dazzling musical experience filled with jazz, 1920s glamour and spectacular show numbers.
Chicago is an award-winning Broadway classic in which murder, fame and show business meet in a razor-sharp and entertaining satire.
Set in 1920s Chicago, the story centres on Roxie Hart (Ellen Lindblad), a woman with big dreams of the limelight.
When a love triangle ends in murder, she finds herself in the city's notorious women's prison, where she meets vaudeville star Velma Kelly (Hanna Lindblad) – as ambitious as she is dangerous.
Soon their fate becomes a media circus in which popularity and headlines mean everything.
With the help of charismatic lawyer Billy Flynn (Peter Jöback), the courtroom becomes a stage and the truth a tool that can be shaped as needed.
Around them are colourful characters such as the forgotten husband Amos (Ola Forssmed) and the domineering Mama Morton (Laila Adéle).
The result is a fast-paced, musical and satirical tale of greed, power and the pursuit of fame – and all that jazz!
A dazzling musical extravaganza you won't want to miss.
Runs until 28 February at Oscarsteatern in Stockholm in spring 2027.
From 8 January, the role of Billy Flynn is played by Linus Wahlgren.
