Främlingen

Matinee screening – a cup of coffee is included in the ticket! The unassuming Mersault attends his mother's funeral without shedding a tear. The following day, he begins a casual romance with his colleague Marie. Seemingly indifferent to everything, he returns to his routines.

But then, one hot day on the beach, chance turns him into a murderer, and when he stands trial, his past actions are turned against him. He is seen as unfeeling. Mersault is a stranger both to others and to himself.

François Ozon's outstanding reinterpretation of Nobel laureate Albert Camus's classic Främlingen is a film adaptation worthy of the timeless novel on which it is based.
