What do Evert Taube, Povel Ramel and Magnus Uggla have in common with Riddarhuset’s long musical history?
To mark Riddarhuset’s 400th anniversary, Drottningholms Barockensemble and Vokalensemblen VoNo offer a musical journey through the long 20th century – from the classical music tradition to songs, schlager and popular music.
Riddarhuset has been an important venue for music since 1731, when Johan Helmich Roman arranged a performance of Händel’s Passion music in Stora Riddarhussalen. Now this historic concert venue encounters the music and cultural figures of the 20th century.
New arrangements weave early music together with familiar Swedish melodies and popular music. The boundaries between art music and popular music are blurred, bringing music from different eras together in the same room.
Welcome to a concert where history and music meet – and where Riddarhuset resonates with new sounds!
