30 minuter om... Artemis
I sing of Artemis with her golden arrows and hunting cries, the chaste maiden, the deer-hunter rich in arrows, the very sister of Apollo — he of the golden sword; she who delights in the hunt among shadowy mountains and windy heights, and draws her golden bow to send forth
devastating arrows. – Hymn 27, Homer
According to myth, the goddess Artemis was the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of the god Apollo. Artemis was not only the goddess of the hunt but also a fertility goddess who protected expectant mothers in childbirth. According to some myths, the goddess demanded human sacrifices to appease her anger, which people had aroused.
Hear museum host Jessika Tidefalk Zouhair tell the story of the goddess who was worshipped throughout Greece as far back as the Bronze Age.
