Gamla stan – gatunamnen berättar

On the façades of buildings in Gamla Stan are the names of people who explain some of the names of its streets and alleyways.

Sometimes the street names have entirely different origins.

The winding alleyways here are unlike those in any other district of Stockholm, and Gamla Stan’s role in Stockholm’s history is unique: for many centuries, this was the City.

Join us for an exciting 1.5-hour walk in Gamla Stan exploring the history of its street names.

Åsa Ohlén-Olsson from Tales & Guiding Stockholm leads the tour, which starts and ends at Stortorget.
