Black Celebration 40 år – The New Dress

BLACK CELEBRATION 40 years and more! LIVE WITH THE NEW DRESS DM’s classic Gareth Jones trilogy spans the mid-1980s, culminating in the iconic BLACK CELEBRATION in 1986.

Sounds no one had heard before, lyrics opening with ”Death is everywhere”, bombastic anthems (Stripped, Black Celebration, Question of Time….), fan favourites (Here is the house, It doesn’t matter two), the synth-driven, 60s-style ballad Question of Lust, the smoky, jazzy Dressed in Black…. This album is like no other. Now THE NEW DRESS will perform the masterpiece in its entirety + a set of assorted favourites from the DM catalogue of 1981–93.

THE NEW DRESS have performed every Depeche album (also from 1981–1993) live at least once, and previous guest performers have included Magnus Carlson (Weeping Willows), Johan Kinde, Alexander Hofman (S.P.O.C.K.) and Katharina Nuttall.

As usual, EMMON & ANNIKA (PARIS) and the other band members (JONAS THORELL, DANIEL BJÖRKLUND, GUSTAF HIELM & JESPER ANDERSSON) will handle much of the singing this evening. This year’s special guest vocalist is FERNANDO HONORATO (PRINCIPE VALIENTE/FERNANDO's EYES).

The band’s founder Jonas Thorell is also known among DM fanatics for his Depeche singalong piano bar sessions, where the audience requests the songs.
