MAKSIM – Segmenti World Tour
MAKSIM The world’s bestselling crossover pianist
SEGMENTI WORLD TOUR
World-renowned crossover pianist MAKSIM, one of the bestselling artists in the genre, is coming to Sweden for just 5 concerts as part of the acclaimed SEGMENTI World Tour. The tour includes over 100 performances across 4 continents, with an expected audience of over 500,000 people.
Virtuoso pianist MAKSIM, an MTV Music Awards winner and first-prize winner at prestigious international music competitions, will perform works from his 12th studio album, SEGMENTI, alongside signature pieces that have defined his career. Iconic works by legendary classical composers such as Chopin, Prokofjev and Tjajkovskij are presented alongside fresh interpretations of world-famous songs by Queen, ABBA and others, enriched with modern and rock-influenced arrangements and performed in MAKSIM’s unique piano style.
The concert will also include live performances of internationally acclaimed pieces from his previous albums, such as “Exodus”, “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “Game of Thrones”, all of which have been hugely popular with audiences.
Joined on stage by his band, MAKSIM takes SEGMENTI World Tour far beyond a traditional piano concert, combining powerful stage production and striking visual effects into an immersive experience. This special evening promises an energetic, cinematic celebration of piano music, transforming the concert into an unforgettable live experience.
With over 5 million albums sold worldwide and numerous gold and platinum records to his name, MAKSIM is regarded as one of the most successful names in crossover piano music, bringing together classical repertoire and modern power and energy. His concerts offer audiences a unique experience through their intensity, cinematic stage design and impressive visual production.
One of the standout tracks from his latest studio album, SEGMENTI, is “Prokofiev’s Fantasy”, which will be performed during the concert. The piece is conceived as a continuous composition that brings together three of Sergej Prokofjev’s most iconic works: the brilliant Toccata, long part of MAKSIM’s repertoire; lyrical themes from Romeo och Julia, arranged by John Lenahan; and the magnificent coda from Pianokonsert nr 3, one of the most technically demanding passages ever written for the instrument. “This piece is among the most complex and technically difficult things I have ever recorded,” says MAKSIM. “I have loved the third piano concerto since childhood and have always dreamed of performing it. For the album, I decided to leave the coda exactly as written – I didn’t change a single note. It is almost impossible to play, yet incredibly captivating and full of joy. I look forward to performing it live and hearing the audience’s reaction!”
