David Binney Action Trio

The distinguished alto saxophonist and jazz musician David Binney gives his first-ever performance in Sweden – alongside drummer Louis Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic.

David Binney Action Trio is a high-energy jazz ensemble led by alto saxophonist David Binney – one of contemporary jazz’s most prolific and distinctive voices, with over 30 albums under his own name and appearances on more than 400 recordings. Despite his long and influential career, David Binney has never previously performed in Sweden.

Binney, singled out by JazzTimes as a creator of “an alternative jazz scene”, brings together Grammy-winning drummer and bandleader Louis Cole and bassist Pera Krstajic for this evening: three distinctive voices who together create a sound that is raw, precise and deeply musical.

Louis Cole is already a familiar name to Stockholm audiences, having enjoyed great success both with his own futuristic band and with the acclaimed duo KNOWER. In Action Trio, his explosive and virtuosic drumming meets Binney’s uncompromising saxophone and Krstajic’s powerful bass playing. This makes David Binney Action Trio one of the most exciting and intense live experiences on today’s modern jazz fusion scene.
