Johnny Dynamite is a Philadelphia-based post-punk artist signed to Born Losers Records. Over his first three albums, Johnny Dynamite has established himself as a concise storyteller and songwriter. The characters in Johnny’s dream world are clear-sighted, manic and steeped in nostalgia. Against a backdrop of dark, atmospheric instrumental arrangements, his anguished vocals and lyrics paint a picture of lost youth, hopeless romance and teenage rebellion.

Dynamite blends many different genres and connects different strands of subculture: equal parts glossy new wave and grand rock ’n’ roll. Johnny’s distinctive, rhythm-centred production style is built on hard-hitting drum machines, 80s-style guitar riffs and ethereal retro synth sounds. His sound has been compared to established acts such as Pet Shop Boys, INXS and The Cure, as well as more contemporary acts such as MGMT and M83.
