Med doft av lavendel
With its herbal scent, lavender is one of the perfume industry's most beloved and timeless raw materials.
Its history stretches from Roman bathhouses to contemporary perfumery, with an unmistakable scent that has become symbolic not only of the Mediterranean as a place, but also of Western notions of health and well-being.
In this lecture, you will learn about the history of lavender, as well as how it is grown and used in the perfume industry. In collaboration with the world-leading raw material producers Laboratoire Monique Rémy and IFF, we will smell both raw materials and isolated fragrance molecules, alongside a selection of contemporary perfume interpretations from Nordiska Kompaniet.
Victor Langer is an art and perfume historian who has previously lectured at Nationalmuseum, Beckmans designhögskola and Lunds universitet, among others.
