Amanda Ginsburg – Det är jul nu igen
Amanda Ginsburg - Det är jul nu igen As the November darkness gives way to Advent stars appearing in windows, Amanda Ginsburg sets off on her first-ever Christmas tour!
With newly written Christmas music finding its place alongside mulled wine and Christmas ham, old traditions are accompanied by new sounds.
Joining Amanda are some of Scandinavia’s finest musicians: her long-time collaborator and co-composer Filip Ekestubbe (piano), Snorre Kirk (drums) and Niklas Fernqvist (double bass). It will be an evening of Amanda’s characteristic reflections on everyday life and swing, wrapped in glittering Christmas decorations and the scent of a saffron bun from the underground station kiosk.
I don’t see myself as particularly bound by tradition, but when it comes to Christmas music, I’ve realised that I rarely try anything new, says Amanda. But we need Christmas music that reflects the times and traditions we live in today. Music that stirs more than just our nostalgic side.
With her two Grammis awards and a unique ability to put into words what she and so many others experience in everyday life, Amanda has become one of our best-loved jazz voices. Rooted in the Swedish song and jazz traditions, she creates music that feels new and familiar at the same time.
Age restriction: 18 (13 if accompanied by a parent or guardian)
