Ekonomiska museet – Kungliga myntkabinettet, Stockholm
Kvinnorna i sekelskiftets Sverige
We continue our successful lecture series on women in Sweden at the turn of the 20th century! This autumn’s series introduces you to fashion star Augusta Lundin, advertising queen Sofia Gumaelius and women’s rights campaigner Ellen Key.
Over three evenings, you will get to know important women from history whose courage, ideas and determination helped pave the way for future generations of women – in business, in the labour market and in society.
This series offers:
Three portraits of women – their life’s work, motivations and significance for the development of society in their time.
Perspectives on economic history, exploring how women’s work helped change economic structures and give women greater control over their own lives.
An insight into women’s business ownership and entrepreneurship in Stockholm at the turn of the 20th century. How women such as Sofia Gumaelius and Augusta Lundin founded businesses that challenged the norms of the day and opened the door to female entrepreneurship.
Tip! Make the evening even more enjoyable with a warming vegetarian soup and a glass of wine at the museum’s restaurant Rosengården. The special price for the evening is 160 kronor. The alcohol-free option costs 120 kronor.
Sales are scheduled to open on 17 August at 08:00. For subscribers to our newsletter, sales open on 10 August.
