Med doft av patchouli

Patchouli is one of the most storied raw materials in the perfume industry, with a long history stretching from the 19th-century silk trade to the psychedelic hippie movement.

Today, despite its sometimes polarising scent, it is an indispensable ingredient in a wide range of contemporary and historical perfumes.

In this lecture, you will learn all about the history of patchouli, as well as how it is grown and used in the perfume industry. In collaboration with the world-leading raw material producers Laboratoire Monique Rémy and IFF, we will smell both raw materials and isolated fragrance molecules, alongside contemporary perfumes from Nordiska Kompaniet.

Victor Langer is an art and perfume historian who has previously lectured at Nationalmuseum, Beckmans designhögskola and Lunds universitet, among other institutions.
