Med doft av vanilj
Vanilla is synonymous with sweetness, warmth and desire, but also with Western colonialism and industrial innovation.
In the perfumer’s palette, it is perhaps the most universally loved raw material, with a long history stretching from its country of origin, Mexico, to 19th-century Germany via Madagascar.
In this lecture, you will learn all about the history of vanilla, as well as how it is grown and used in the perfume industry. In collaboration with the world-leading raw material producers Laboratoire Monique Rémy and IFF, we will smell both raw materials and isolated fragrance molecules, alongside contemporary perfumes from Nordiska Kompaniet.
Victor Langer is an art and perfume historian who has previously given lectures at Nationalmuseum, Beckmans designhögskola and Lunds universitet, among other institutions.
