Tvådagarskurs: Lär dig väva i bandgrind
Tvådagarskurs: Lär dig väva i bandgrind Weaving bands with a rigid heddle is an ancient weaving method that has been and continues to be practised around the world, and extensively in various parts of Sappmí.
The technique involves stretching a narrow warp between the weaver’s body and a fixed point, for example on a wall. The band is then woven using the rigid heddle.
The course begins with an introduction to the history of the band heddle. You will learn how to set up the warp, how to weave, and how to plan and create simple patterns.
You will begin weaving a band and receive a band heddle to take home so that you can finish it.
No previous experience is required, but some experience of textile crafts may be helpful.
The course runs over two days, from 11.00–16.00 on both days, with a lunch break.
All materials are included.
