Postmuseum

Discover the history of the postal service!

Postmuseum is housed in a historic building in Gamla Stan. Before becoming a museum in 1906, the building housed the capital’s only post office for 150 years. Today, the museum holds extensive collections of objects illustrating the history of the postal service. Here, visitors can trace the development of the postage stamp and admire stamps that are unique in the world, take a look at Posten’s vehicle fleet, find out how many letters are handled each day and try their hand at working in a post office.
